Aba, Nigeria – Aba Power, Nigeria’s newest electricity distribution company, has launched a successful operation against energy theft, arresting two individuals and uncovering a broader syndicate.
The suspects, Isak Adamu, an electrician, and Udeme James, were apprehended on Orji Street, off Umule Road, Aba, for illegal meter tampering. Investigations revealed Adamu’s involvement in multiple cases and his connection to a network of corrupt clients.
Aba Power’s Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Blessing Ogbe, vowed to eradicate energy theft, implementing stricter monitoring and swift legal action against offenders, as per the 2023 Electricity Act.
