Three individuals impersonating police and Department of State Services (DSS) officers have been arrested in Abuja for their involvement in the notorious “one chance” robbery scheme. The suspects allegedly used a white Toyota Camry to pick up unsuspecting victims, claiming to be conducting an investigation, and then demanded ransom from their families.

Modus Operandi

  •  Picked up victims in a white Toyota Camry
  •  Claimed to be officers conducting an investigation
  •  Took victims to unknown locations to demand ransom from their families

The police were able to track and arrest the suspects after they stopped two victims, Jeremiah David and Amaka Humina, and transferred N400,000 from them, also stealing iPhones and Samsung phones.

The police have been working tirelessly to curb insecurity in Abuja, and this arrest is a significant breakthrough in their efforts. The authorities are committed to ensuring the safety of citizens and visitors in the city.
