Abuja Police Raise Alarm Over Rising Cases of Abandoned Babies

The Abuja Police are sounding the alarm about the rising cases of abandoned babies in the nation’s capital. According to SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, this disturbing trend is largely due to men abandoning women after impregnating them.

Just last Saturday, two new cases of abandoned babies were reported, adding to the growing concern. The police are urging men to take responsibility for their actions and avoid unprotected sex or abstain from it if they’re not ready to be fathers.

This issue is not only prevalent in Abuja but also across Nigeria, with estimates suggesting there are about 140 million orphans globally, and many more children are abandoned or neglected.

The police’s call to action is crucial in preventing child abandonment and ensuring that children receive the care and support they need.
