The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun, has dealt a significant blow to kidnapping in the state, rescuing four victims and apprehending two notorious kingpins.
According to Amotekun Commander, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the operation took place along the Owo/Ose highway, a hotspot for kidnappings. Adeleye led the team, collaborating with local hunters to apprehend the suspects.
The kidnapped victims identified the arrested suspects as responsible for previous abductions in the area. The kidnappers’ tactics involved blocking roads with vehicles, ambushing commuters, and demanding hefty ransoms.
In August, the suspects collected ₦1.2 million in ransom from kidnapped victims. This time, they demanded ₦20 million but were caught before payment.
Community leaders praised Amotekun’s swift action, saying it restored confidence in local security.

The rescued victims are receiving medical attention and psychological support. The arrested kidnappers will face legal proceedings.
“We will not tolerate kidnapping in Ondo State,” Commander Adeleye warned. “Criminals will be brought to justice.”
This operation demonstrates Amotekun’s commitment to safeguarding Ondo State residents and commuters.
