A disturbing incident has shaken the Oyi Anglican Church community in Anambra State, Nigeria. Venerable David Arinze Ajaefobi, the respected Archdeacon and Vicar of St. James’ Parish in Awkuzu, was kidnapped by unknown individuals at the church entrance.
According to reports, the cleric was abducted on at the entrance gate of the church, leaving the congregation and community in shock. The church authorities have confirmed that no contact has been established with the abductors, sparking fears for the safety and well-being of the victim.
The Anambra State Police Command has denied receiving any report of the incident, according to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state Police Public Relations Officer. This has raised concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing the growing insecurity in the region.
