Tragedy has struck at the Federal University Dutsinma in Katsina State, where bandits abducted four students on Sunday morning. According to DSP Abubakar Sadiq, the Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, one of the kidnapped students has been rescued thanks to the efforts of security operatives. However, three students remain in captivity, and efforts are being intensified to rescue them.
The abduction occurred at the Paris Quarters, a student residential area behind the university building, where the hoodlums invaded at around 2:20 am, armed with AK-47 rifles. Despite receiving a distress call, security operatives were unable to prevent the abduction as the hoodlums had already fled with the students into the bush.
This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Katsina State, particularly in the Dutsinma local government area, which has been plagued by banditry and other crimes despite government interventions.
