BANDITS KILL DISTRICT HEAD IN KEBBI STATE

 

Tragedy struck in Kebbi State as bandits killed Alhaji Isah Daya, the district head of Kanya village, after abducting him and eight others.

 

Abduction and Rescue

The armed bandits stormed Kanya village, under Denko/Wasagu Local Government Area, and took the district head and eight others hostage. Combined security forces swiftly responded, rescuing the eight abducted individuals unharmed.

 

District Head’s Fatal Fate

Unfortunately, the bandits killed Alhaji Isah Daya, and his remains have been deposited at Kanya hospital, according to local sources.

 

Government Response

The Kebbi State government confirmed the rescue of the eight abducted persons through a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris.

 

Growing Concerns

This incident highlights the escalating threat of banditry and kidnapping in Nigeria’s northern regions, sparking concerns about public safety.

 

Reactions

The police are yet to comment on the incident, as the state Police image maker, Nafiu Abubakar, did not respond to calls.
