Bandits Kill Security Aide, Abduct 4-Year-Old Son of Katsina Council Chairman

Bandits have attacked the residence of Malumfashi Local Government Chairman, Hon. Maharazu Dayi, in Katsina, killing his security aide, Shamsudeen Ahmed, and abducting his four-year-old son, Ahmed. The attack occurred around 1:45 AM on Tuesday, with the bandits arriving in three vehicles instead of their usual motorcycles.

During the attack, the chairman’s wife’s sister raised an alarm after spotting the intruders, prompting some family members to hide in a toilet while the chairman’s wife locked herself in her room. Despite these efforts, the bandits seized two of the chairman’s children, but a fierce gun battle with police forced them to release one of the children.

The police have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing to secure the release of the abducted child and bring the perpetrators to justice.
