Bauchi Tertiary Institutions Embark on Indefinite Strike Over Unmet Demands

 

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Bauchi State-owned tertiary institutions has declared an indefinite strike due to unresolved demands with the state government. The strike, which began on January 2, 2025, affects six institutions, including:

  1.  Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauch
  2.  Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere
  3.  A.D Rufai College of Education, Legal and General Studies, Misau
  4.  Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare
  5.  Bauchi State College of Agriculture, Bauchi
  6. Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ningi

The JAC’s demands include the implementation of the new CONPCASS and CONTEDISS tables, as well as a commitment from the government to address the issues. The strike was preceded by a two-week warning strike that ended on December 30, 2024.
