The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Bauchi State-owned tertiary institutions has declared an indefinite strike due to unresolved demands with the state government. The strike, which began on January 2, 2025, affects six institutions, including:
- Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauch
- Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere
- A.D Rufai College of Education, Legal and General Studies, Misau
- Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare
- Bauchi State College of Agriculture, Bauchi
- Bill and Melinda Gates College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ningi
The JAC’s demands include the implementation of the new CONPCASS and CONTEDISS tables, as well as a commitment from the government to address the issues. The strike was preceded by a two-week warning strike that ended on December 30, 2024.
