Borno Flood: Ogun State Donates N200m for Relief Efforts

 

The Ogun State Government has donated N200 million to support victims of the devastating flood in Borno State, which has displaced over 414,000 people and claimed 30 lives.

Governor Abiodun’s Statement:

“The flood has caused an unimaginable humanitarian crisis in Borno, necessitating immediate support from all Nigerians to provide succour for the affected people.”

Donation Purpose:

The funds aim to provide immediate relief and assist victims of the flood.

Borno Flood Facts:

– 414,000+ people displaced
– 30 lives lost
– Worst flooding in 30 years
– Alau Dam overflowed due to heavy rainfall

Other Relief Efforts:

– Gombe State donated N100m
– ECOWAS donated N640m to Nigeria for flood victims in Borno and Bauchi
– UNICEF and Nigerian Red Cross providing aid

– Fumigation efforts underway as floodwaters recede
– President Tinubu visited to evaluate flood impacts
