Borno State Closes Schools for Two Weeks Due to Severe Flooding

The Borno State Government has taken measures to ensure the safety of its citizens, particularly children, by closing all public and private primary and secondary schools for two weeks. This decision comes as a result of the severe flooding that has displaced many residents and occupied some schools.

The closure, which was announced by the Acting Director of Schools Services, Grema Bulama, will last until September 23. The government has urged all concerned parties to comply with the directive and apologized for any inconvenience caused.

In addition to the school closures, the Borno State Government has established a flood emergency response committee, led by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bukar Tijjani, to address the flood situation and provide support to those affected.

This proactive approach by the government aims to mitigate the impact of the flooding and ensure the well-being of its citizens, especially during this challenging time.
