A cholera outbreak has ravaged Adamawa State, claiming 12 lives and hospitalizing 304 people, according to State Commissioner of Health Chief Felix Tangwami.
The outbreak has affected four local government areas: Girei, Furore, Yola-south, and Yola-North.
Commissioner Tangwami reported that 244 patients have been treated and discharged, while the government advises the public to observe health rules and avoid untreated water.
The United Nations Children Funds has donated 200,000 doses of cholera drugs to aid in the response.
