Church Invasion: Gunmen Kill Pastor’s Aide, Abduct Two in Imo

A devastating attack occurred at God’s Doing Healing and Deliverance Ministry in Orodo, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, on Saturday. Gunmen invaded the church during a programme, killing Samuel Ogbonna, a youth leader and close aide to the general overseer, Evang. Maduabuchi Ernest.

The gunmen, numbering around eight, arrived in two cars and demanded to see the general overseer. When told he was not present, they ordered the congregation to lie face down and collected their personal belongings. As they left, they shot and killed Ogbonna, who had returned to the church after running errands. They also abducted two members, a man and a nursing mother, but later released them along the Owerri-Orlu expressway.

The incident has thrown the area into apprehension, with many people scared for their safety. The church has been locked up, and some residents have fled Orodo. The police are yet to comment on the attack.
