DAVIDO WEIGHS IN ON EDO ELECTION, SLAMS INEC OVER IRREGULARITIES

Nigerian music icon, Davido, has expressed his discontent with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the handling of the Edo State gubernatorial election.

Davido, whose mother hails from Edo State, took to social media to vent his frustrations:

“My mom is from Edo… that’s why I’m interested in this election. INEC, shame on you! We as Nigerians should be concerned.”

He described INEC as “the most dangerous institution in Nigeria” and called on Edo residents to remain vigilant.

“EDO PEOPLE, NO GREE OOO! FIGHT TILL FINISH!!!”

Davido also demanded an extension of voting time, citing his previous advocacy efforts in Osun State.

“Extend voting time!! We’re waiting for Osun 2026. Try this nonsense then.”

In response to widespread complaints, INEC has announced an extension of voting hours in areas where voting commenced late.

The Edo State governorship election has been marred by reports of delays, technical issues, and voter disenfranchisement.
