Delta State Mourns the Loss of Visionary Leader, Professor Amos Utuama

In a somber mood, Delta State bid farewell to one of its most revered sons, Professor Amos Utuama, who passed away at the age of 77. The former Deputy Governor’s demise has left an indelible void in the state’s political landscape.

Professor Utuama’s remarkable journey was defined by his unwavering commitment to Delta State’s progress. He served as Deputy Governor from 2007 to 2015, alongside former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, and previously as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General under former Governor James Ibori’s administration.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remembered Utuama as “a gentleman politician and scholar” whose contributions to Delta’s development were immense. Former Governor James Ibori praised Utuama’s loyalty and dedication, describing him as “a humble, loyal, and esteemed Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.”

Tributes poured in from across the state, with many recalling Utuama’s tireless efforts to promote unity and progress. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. As Delta State mourns the loss of this visionary leader, his impact on the state’s history will remain etched forever.

Professor Utuama’s passing marks the end of an era, but his selfless service and unwavering commitment to Delta State’s advancement will never be forgotten.
