The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 21 individuals in Bauchi State on suspicion of internet fraud. The EFCC’s Gombe Zonal Directorate carried out the operation on Saturday, March 15, 2025, following credible intelligence reports on the suspects’ activities.
According to a statement released by the commission, the suspects were arrested at Kaure New Government Reservation Area (GRA) and Awala, Maiduguri Road, in Bauchi. The raid led to the seizure of several high-end items, including a BMW car, a Toyota Camry, three PlayStation 5 consoles, 30 expensive phones, one flat-screen television, six Point of Sale (POS) machines, four iPads, and five laptops.
The EFCC confirmed that the suspects would face legal charges once investigations are completed.
This crackdown highlights the commission’s continued efforts to combat cybercrime in the country.
