El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club Players Attacked by Armed Robbers in Bauchi

 

 

El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club players were attacked by armed robbers along the Bauchi-Jos road, leaving several players badly injured.

The incident occurred when the team was returning from a match in Jos. According to the Bauchi Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, the robbers made off with money, mobile phones, and other valuables.

 

The affected players received medical treatment at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital and were later discharged. The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to apprehend and prosecute those responsible.

 

This incident highlights the challenges faced by football teams in Nigeria, particularly when it comes to traveling for matches.

The players have spoken out about their harrowing experience, with one player stating that their traveling is “like punishment” due to the poor condition of their team bus and the risks they face on the road.
