A man identified as Iliayasu Mohammed has been accused of murdering his friend, Safillahi Muhammad, after inviting him for a meal at his residence in Dantata Village, Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Mohammed allegedly served his friend food before attacking him with a cutlass, inflicting multiple wounds on his head and body.¹
According to the FCT police command spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, police officers responded to a distress call and found Muhammad unconscious in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigations revealed that Mohammed, an ex-convict, has ties to a notorious syndicate that targets motorcyclists for theft. He confessed to the killing and provided information on the syndicate’s operations, which is led by a suspect named Hassan, who remains at large.
The police are actively pursuing other members of the gang, and Mohammed will face charges in court following the completion of the investigation.
