FG Allocates ₦259 Million for Abattoir Construction and Rehabilitation Across Six States

 

The Federal Government of Nigeria has allocated ₦259 million for the construction and rehabilitation of abattoirs across six states: Lagos, Adamawa, Enugu, Bayelsa, Benue, and Anambra. This initiative aims to boost livestock productivity and infrastructure development within the proposed ₦49.74 trillion 2025 budget.

Key Projects and Allocations:

  1.  Abattoir Construction and Rehabilitation: ₦259 million
  2.  Solar-Powered Vaccine Cold Room: ₦90 million
  3.  Model Processing Center for Animal By-Products: ₦72 million
  4.  National Egg Production Scheme Expansion: ₦44 million
  5.  Capacity Building for Feed and Fodder Manufacturers: ₦43.15 million
  6.  Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement: ₦44.5 million
  7.  Empowering Private Veterinarians: ₦56 million
  8.  Partnerships with International Organizations: ₦54.3 million

These projects are part of the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development’s budget, which aims to promote the commercialization of indigenous breeds, develop disease-free zones, and enhance export capabilities for livestock products.
