FG Invests N89.2 Billion in FCT Infrastructure and Schools

 

The Federal Government has invested N89.2 billion in infrastructure and schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over the past 12 months. This significant investment aims to improve the lives of residents and promote economic growth in the region.

Key Projects:

1. Gaba-Tokulo Road: N7 billion was spent on constructing the 5-kilometer road, which was initiated at the request of local residents.
2. Dutse to Bwari Road: N27 billion was allocated for the rehabilitation of this critical road.
3. Ushafa to War College Road: N28 billion was invested in dualizing this key road.

School Rehabilitation and Construction:

1. Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse: Benefited from the N27 billion allocated for school rehabilitation and construction.
2. Government Secondary School (GSS), Bwari: Also benefited from the allocation.
3. New schools: Government Girls Secondary Schools were built in Ushafa, Dei Dei, Kubwa, and Jibi.

Additional Initiatives:

1. Security: Two police divisional offices are under construction, set to be completed by May.
2. Streetlights: Installation of streetlights along the Gaba-Tokulo road has been directed.
3. Road Extension: Plans are underway to extend the Gaba-Tokulo road to Kawu, a border community with Kaduna State.

The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, emphasized the administration’s commitment to transforming the region through infrastructure development and education.
