A fire incident occurred at an MTN booster station located within the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday. The fire, which was caused by an electrical surge, damaged the Mikano electrical generator, board, and other telecommunications gadgets at the station.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, around 4 am. The state Fire Service responded promptly to the incident, and the fire was extinguished quickly.
The Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde and Chairman of the State Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident. He stated that the fire personnel, led by ACFS Olubunmi, were deployed to the scene and arrived on time to extinguish the fire.
The incident did not result in any casualties, and the cause of the fire has been attributed to an electrical surge. The MTN booster station is located beside the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Ibadan.
