Five Arrested Over Burning of Police Station in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested five persons in connection with the burning of a police station in Ifon Community, Ose Local Government Area. The crisis began when a young man, Tolu Bobade, died in police custody after being allegedly tortured.

The police confirmed that the protest, which resulted in the burning of the Divisional Police Station, was sparked by Bobade’s death. Commissioner of Police Wilfred Afolabi condemned the attack and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands.

The Bobade family claims that Tolu was wrongly arrested, tortured, and killed by the police. They also allege that the police secretly took his body to the hospital and deposited it at the morgue without informing the family.

The police have begun a full investigation into the incident, and the community is calling for justice and accountability.
