FRSC Warns Against Overloading After Fatal Crash in Ogun

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State has issued a warning to motorists against overloading their vehicles with passengers or goods. This comes after a recent crash in the Itori area of the state resulted in the deaths of two children.

According to FRSC Public Education Officer Florence Okpe, the crash occurred on Saturday night and involved a white Toyota Camry with seven male adults, one male child, and one female child on board. The driver’s excessive speeding and overloading of passengers led to the crash, which injured seven occupants and killed two children.

The Ogun Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, condemned the crash and described it as an avoidable incident if the driver had taken caution. He urged motorists to avoid overloading their vehicles, as it violates traffic rules and puts lives at risk.

This incident follows a previous crash in the Papalanto area of the state, which resulted in the deaths of two persons. The FRSC continues to emphasize the importance of safe driving practices to prevent such tragedies.
