Gospel Singer Pleads Not Guilty to Murder of Nasarawa Corper

 

Timileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer, has pleaded not guilty to the charge of culpable homicide punishable with death in connection with the murder of Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

Key Details:

1. Arrest and Charge: Ajayi was arrested by the Nasarawa State Police Command on January 12 and charged with culpable homicide.
2. Court Appearance: He appeared before Justice Simeon Aboki at Court 2 in Lafia on Monday, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
3. Police Statement: The Officer-in-Charge, Legal, of the Nasarawa State Police Command, Stanley Nwaforagu, stated that the police would continue to follow up on the case until justice is served.
4. Trial Date: The case has been adjourned to March 17-20 for trial.

Ajayi’s counsel, Joseph Tukur, assured that he would follow up on the case and ensure that the law is fulfilled. The prosecution is expected to present its case against Ajayi during the trial.
