A devastating incident occurred in Asagba Ogwashi, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, as gunmen invaded Elyon Paradise Ministry Church during a Friday night vigil.
According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen shot the pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, and cut off two of his fingers. They also kidnapped six worshippers, taking them to an unknown destination.
The pastor was rushed to the hospital, where medical personnel fought to save his life. However, the kidnappers have yet to contact the families of the abducted worshippers to demand a ransom.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and stated that a rescue team is currently tracking the suspects.
The community is in shock and tension following the attack, and residents are calling for increased security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
