A devastating incident occurred in Emure, Ekiti State, on Saturday, as gunmen abducted three travelers and killed one of the victims’ husbands. The attack took place around 5:30 PM near Oyimo River, along the Emure-Eporo road.
According to sources, Taiwo Oluwole and his wife were returning to Akure after attending a family event when their vehicle was ambushed. Oluwole was shot and killed, while his wife and two other occupants were taken into captivity.
The kidnappers have not yet contacted the family of the victims, and a joint security team has been pursuing them since the report was made. The Chairman of Emure Local Government, Tosin Adedayo, confirmed the incident and expressed confidence that the victims would be freed.
This incident is the latest in a series of kidnappings in the area, including the abduction of pupils from Apostolic Faith Children School in January and Mrs. Atinuke, wife of a retiree, Albert Adanikin, in July
