A husband in Abuja, Nigeria, has filed for divorce due to his wife’s alleged poor hygiene. Adeboye Omotayo, a public servant, claims that his wife, Ella, doesn’t know how to keep their home clean and tidy. He alleges that the house is always filthy and smelling, making it impossible for him to rest after work. Omotayo also states that his wife has refused to take care of her personal hygiene, always looking unkempt.
The husband feels used by his wife, who he believes thinks she has achieved her goal by giving birth to their children. He claims that she has lost love, respect, and affection for him. Additionally, Omotayo alleges that his wife gangs up with her family members to insult, curse, and threaten him.
However, Ella denies the allegations of poor hygiene. The Presiding Judge, Thelma Baba, has advised the couple to explore an amicable settlement for the sake of their children. The case has been adjourned until January 28 for a report of settlement or hearing.
Interestingly, this case highlights the importance of personal hygiene in relationships. Poor hygiene can be a significant issue, as seen in another case where a Nigerian woman ended her marriage due to her husband’s poor personal hygiene.
