Kaduna Fire Service Reports 37 Fire Outbreaks in January 2025

 

The Kaduna State Fire Service has announced that it responded to 37 fire outbreaks across the state in January 2025. According to the Director of the State Fire Service, Mr. Paul Aboi, the incidents resulted in the loss of two lives and property damage worth N196 million.

However, the fire service was able to save property valued at N400 million during the same period. Aboi noted that the fires affected residential houses, shops, and fuel stations, and that four people were injured in the incidents, while one person was rescued.

Aboi urged the public to exercise caution when handling fire, especially during the harmattan season. He emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures to avoid fire outbreaks.

Meanwhile, Usman Mazadu, the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, advised residents to ensure proper ventilation in their homes when cooking with gas to prevent fires.
