Kaduna Police Arrest Over 580 Suspects, Rescue 30 Kidnapped Victims

Kaduna State Police Command has arrested over 580 suspects for various crimes, including kidnapping, robbery, and rape, from December 31, 2024, to date. The suspects include 20 suspected kidnappers, 320 suspected phone snatchers, 32 suspected armed robbers, 5 car thieves, 13 motorcycle snatchers, 10 rape suspects, and 23 receivers of stolen goods.

The police also rescued over 30 kidnapped victims and recovered several stolen items, including:

  •  34 stolen motorcycles
  •  10 stolen motor vehicles
  •  1 submachine gun, 4 AK-47 rifles, 2 pistols
  •  28 rounds of live ammunition with 5 magazines
  •  52 rustled cows
  •  20 bags of suspected Indian hemp

The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, attributed the success to intelligence-driven operations, collaboration with sister security agencies, and strong community partnerships. He warned criminal elements that Kaduna is no longer a safe haven for crime and urged residents to remain law-abiding and provide credible information to ensure a safer and more peaceful Kaduna State.
