Kebbi Police Neutralize 4 Kidnappers, Rescue Victim, Recover N3m Ransom

 

The Kebbi State Police Command has successfully neutralized four suspected kidnappers, rescued a 60-year-old victim, and recovered N3 million in ransom payment. The incident occurred in Suru Local Government Area, where armed men invaded Gobiraje Village and kidnapped Umaru Bawa.

The police responded swiftly, trailing the suspects to Tundafari forest, where a gun duel ensued. Four kidnappers were neutralized, one was arrested with fatal injuries, and others escaped with gunshot wounds. The victim was rescued unhurt, and the ransom payment was recovered.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bello Sani, commended the police officers’ resilience and professionalism, reiterating the command’s determination to combat crimes in the state. The commissioner urged the public to remain security-conscious and report suspicious movements to the nearest police station.
