A kidnapped Anambra High Court judge and two Reverend Sisters have been released after being abducted last week. The Reverend Sisters, Vincentia Maria Nwankwo and Grace Mariette Okoli, were taken on their way home from a meeting, while the judge was kidnapped on Saturday outside his home in Awka.
According to a statement by Sr. Maria Sobenna Ikeotuonye, IHM Secretary General, the Reverend Sisters were released unconditionally and in good health. The judge was also released on Sunday, just 24 hours after his abduction, sparking widespread jubilation among his supporters.
The release of the kidnapped victims has brought relief to the people of Anambra State, who have been living in fear of kidnappings and other violent crimes in recent times.
