Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, has urged the Federal Government, state governors and other leaders to make decisions that alleviate Nigerians’ suffering. He emphasized the importance of leaders listening to the masses and fulfilling their promises.
Key Points:
1. Leaders’ Responsibility: Kumuyi stressed that leaders must drive positive change by listening to the populace and creating thorough plans for national improvement.
2. Christian Participation in Politics: He encouraged Christians to participate in politics, lead with integrity and make meaningful contributions.
3. National Transformation: The upcoming Global December Retreat and Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) aims to promote spiritual renewal and inspire national transformation.
4. Event Details: The retreat is scheduled for December 20-25, 2024, at the Deeper Life International Conference Centre.
Kumuyi’s Message:
“In the past, various sections of society—including women, young people and activists—have expressed their expectations. Leaders, whether at local, state or federal levels, are elected to drive positive change. It is their responsibility to listen to the populace and create thorough plans for national improvement,” Kumuyi stated.

Importance of Christian Leadership:
Kumuyi expressed concern over the low participation of Christians in active politics, urging them to abandon nonchalant attitudes and take an active role in nation-building.
“Christians cannot complain about the direction of policies if they fail to participate in shaping them. Without believers in governance, those unfamiliar with Christian values will determine the country’s fate, including that of Christians,” Kumuyi warned.
Biblical Examples:
He encouraged Christians in politics and aspiring leaders to uphold virtues and values that align with their faith, ensuring their actions bring positive change. Citing Biblical examples such as Joseph, Pastor Kumuyi advised Christians to emulate exemplary leaders from the past whenever they assume political office.
“Christians should not only participate in politics but should also lead with integrity and purpose. Like Joseph in the Bible, they must hold on to their faith, make meaningful contributions and fulfill the purpose of their roles in politics,” Kumuyi added.
Global Crusade:
On the upcoming retreat, Pastor Kumuyi expressed optimism, saying: “This event is a time for reflection on the past, present and future. It’s an opportunity for transformation in our lives, families and nation. We anticipate miracles, deliverance and a turning point for our nation.”
He highlighted the success of the GCK over the years, noting that it has been a platform for breakthroughs and spiritual blessings.
“God has promised us all things under heaven, and we trust that He will prove Himself mightily as we gather for this year’s climax,” he concluded.
