Kwara Student Found Dismembered in Ilorin Home of Facebook Friend

 

A final-year student of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin, Yetunde Lawal, has been found brutally murdered and dismembered in the home of a Facebook friend in Ilorin. The suspect, identified as the son of a prominent Islamic cleric, has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

According to reports, Lawal went missing on February 10, 2025, after attending a naming ceremony, where she received a phone call from the suspect. Her father reported her missing the following day, and the police used her phone number to track her last call to the suspect’s location.

The suspect initially denied knowledge of Lawal’s whereabouts but later confessed to the crime when the police searched his house. The police found Lawal’s dismembered body hidden in a bowl, along with equipment used to dismember her.

The case is currently under investigation at the Kwara State Police Command headquarters. The police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the incident and stated that further updates would be communicated as the investigation progresses.
