A fire broke out on the 11th floor of the Ultimate Apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos, but fortunately, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) rescued all occupants safely. The fire, which was reported at 22:16 on Friday, was extinguished, and no casualties or injuries were recorded.
According to Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, the agency received distress calls through its emergency lines and quickly activated its response teams. The teams prevented the fire from spreading to other apartments and educated occupants on the dangers of smoke during fire incidents.
While the immediate cause of the fire couldn’t be ascertained, it’s a relief that everyone was rescued safely. This incident highlights the importance of emergency preparedness and response in preventing tragedies.
