Lecturer Arrested for Alleged Kidnapping of Colleague’s Wife

 

Dr. Ichor Tersagh, a lecturer at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue State, has been arrested for allegedly masterminding the kidnapping of his colleague’s wife, Mrs. Susan Anyagh.

Incident

Mrs. Anyagh was ambushed and kidnapped by unknown men along Otukpo Road, Makurdi, while driving from NNPC Mega Fuel Station. The kidnappers collected N1.3 million from her car, beat her to a coma and abandoned her on a bush path.

Investigation

After regaining consciousness, Mrs. Anyagh identified Dr. Tersagh as one of the kidnappers. She claimed he was present at the scene and ignored her pleas for help. The police have arrested Dr. Tersagh in connection with the case, and an investigation is ongoing.

Statement

Benue State Police Command spokesperson, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident and arrest. “The victim stated that while she was driving, she was flagged down by persons who claimed to be in need, and she stopped to render help. They quickly jumped into her car, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to drive towards Wurukum area.”

Reaction

Paul Anyagh, the victim’s husband, confirmed the incident and promised to provide further details later. The case is under investigation, and the police are working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the kidnapping.
