Man Beheads Best Friend After Misappropriating N30m in Delta

 

A gruesome murder case has unfolded in Delta State, Nigeria, where a man, Efe Onoetiyi, allegedly beheaded his best friend, Paulinus Okon, after misappropriating N30 million entrusted to him.

According to reports, Onoetiyi had been given the money by Okon to purchase a house, but instead, he used the funds for personal gain, buying two plots of land and building a duplex. When confronted by Okon’s family about his disappearance, Onoetiyi fabricated stories, including claiming that Okon had been kidnapped and demanding a ransom.

An investigation led by the Delta State Police Command revealed the shocking truth. Onoetiyi and his accomplices, including a herbalist, Lawrence Joseph, and two others, Sunday Ikpeba and Okeimute Gaga, were arrested and confessed to the crime. The police found Okon’s skull buried at the herbalist’s shrine in Otokutu.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, expressed concern about the rising violence and urged parents to take their children’s upbringing seriously, especially during the holiday season.

In other news, President Bola Tinubu has defended his decision to remove the fuel subsidy, citing the need for fiscal discipline and investments in critical infrastructure.
