The Defence Headquarters has pledged to hunt down and capture the killers of 17 military personnel and soldiers in Okuama, Delta State, no matter how long it takes. Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, made this vow at a media briefing after a joint security meeting in Abuja.
Musa compared the situation to the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, stating that the military will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to justice. He also warned communities in the North West against supporting or providing information to terrorists, emphasizing the need for synergy between security agencies and locals to combat terrorism.
Additionally, Musa assured that notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, who has been using social media to threaten communities and celebrate his conquests, will be captured soon. He described Turji as a “deranged individual” who will soon be brought to justice.
The military is reviewing operations in the North West to achieve better results and will harmonize various operations under one commander for greater effectiveness.
