A 23-year-old motorcyclist, Temi Oluwole, has been arraigned in court for allegedly crushing a 71-year-old man, Dayo Komolafe, to death in Akure, Ondo State.
The incident occurred on August 27, 2024, at around 8:00 pm at Leo Junction, along Oyemekun Road, Akure.
Oluwole was charged with three counts:
– Reckless driving causing death
– Driving without a valid license
– Failure to produce documents on demand
The prosecutor, Inspector Nelson Akintimehin, alleged that Oluwole drove his motorcycle dangerously and recklessly, causing the death of Komolafe in front of his house.
Oluwole pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with one surety in like sum by Magistrate Kolawole Aro.
The defense counsel, Mr. Kehinde Akintelure, stated that the families of the defendant and the deceased are exploring an out-of-court settlement.
