NAFDAC Destroys Smuggled, Fake Drugs Worth N11bn in Oyo

 

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed smuggled, expired and fake drugs valued at approximately N11 billion in Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

Key Highlights:

1. Destruction Details: The products were collected from five South-West states (excluding Lagos) and Kwara State.

2. Product Types: Expired, unregistered, unwholesome, fake and counterfeit products were destroyed.

3. NAFDAC’s Commitment: The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring public health and safety through product registration, laboratory testing, inspections and enforcement actions.

4. Public Appeal: NAFDAC called on Nigerians to join hands in safeguarding the nation’s food and drug sector.
