National Assembly Condemns NDLEA Over Killing of 2-Year-Old, Shooting of Brother

 

The National Assembly has strongly condemned the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for the killing of two-year-old Onosereba Omhonria and the shooting of his one-year-old brother, Eromonsele Omhonria, in the eye. The Senate and House of Representatives expressed outrage over the incident, noting the immense pain the family has endured.

The family’s petition, submitted to the National Assembly, criticized the NDLEA’s reckless conduct and demanded justice and compensation of ₦2 billion. However, the NDLEA offered only ₦25 million, sparking outrage from Senator Neda Imaseun, who described the offer as “callous”.

The Senate Ethics Committee has resolved to work with its counterpart in the House to ensure fair compensation for the family. Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has also called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
