NDLEA Arrests Turkey-Bound Businessman with 120 Wraps of Cocaine

A 42-year-old Angolan businessman, Mbala Dajou Abuba, was arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano. Abuba was caught attempting to traffic 120 wraps of cocaine, weighing 1.829 kilograms, to Istanbul, Turkey.

According to NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi, Abuba was arrested on February 25, 2025, while trying to board an Egypt Air flight. A body scan revealed that he had ingested the cocaine, which he then expelled in seven excretions while under observation.

Abuba claimed to have been in the township delivery services business in Angola before venturing into the illicit drug trade. This arrest is one of several recent successes by the NDLEA in disrupting cocaine trafficking operations.

In related news, the NDLEA also intercepted other cocaine shipments and arrested several suspects in various parts of the country, including Lagos, Delta, Edo, and Oyo states.
