A recent report by the Centre of Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law in Kenya has revealed that Nigeria ranks second among African countries with the most AI firms in 2024. Here are the top 10 countries:

1. South Africa: With over 600 AI firms, South Africa leads the continent in AI development.

2. Nigeria: Nigeria ranks second with over 400 AI firms and startups.

3. Egypt: Egypt boasts over 200 AI startups, with a focus on healthcare, education, and e-commerce.

4. Kenya: Kenya is leveraging AI to address challenges in agriculture, healthcare, education, and finance.

5. Morocco: Morocco is embracing AI technology across various sectors, with increasing recognition from global investors.

6. Ghana: Ghana’s evolving tech ecosystem is seeing AI-driven solutions aimed at addressing challenges in agriculture, healthcare, and education.

7. Tunisia: Tunisia is focusing on the practical application of AI, particularly in supporting tech startups.

8. Cameroon: Cameroon is actively exploring and implementing AI technologies, despite challenges such as limited access to data and skilled professionals.

9. Tanzania: Tanzania is gradually embracing AI technology, with a rise in AI startups and initiatives.

10. Uganda: Uganda is emerging as an AI hub in East Africa, utilizing AI in sectors like energy, agriculture, and education.
