Nigeria’s government has introduced 15 new trades to its basic education curriculum to enhance student employability. The updated curriculum, set to take effect in January 2025, aims to provide students with practical skills aligned with industry needs.

1. Plumbing
2. Tiling and floor works
3. POP (Plaster of Paris) installation
4. Event decoration and management
5. Bakery and confectioneries
6. Hairstyling
7. GSM repairs
8. Satellite/TV antenna installation
9. CCTV and intercom installation
10. Crop production
11. Beekeeping
12. Horticulture
13. Livestock farming (poultry and rabbit rearing)
14. Basic digital literacy (IT and robotics)
15. Other vocational skills
