A 55-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested at the OR Tambo International Airport in South Africa for drug trafficking. He was caught with multiple cocaine-filled “drug bullets” that he had swallowed after arriving from São Paulo, Brazil.
The suspect was intercepted by police at the airport, and a medical X-ray revealed the presence of the drug bullets. He is expected to appear in court this week and is currently under medical supervision as he expels the remaining bullets.
This arrest is part of a growing trend of drug mule arrests at the OR Tambo International Airport. Since 2024, about 20 drug mules have been arrested at the airport, including two South African nationals caught with R7.5 million worth of cocaine.
