Nigerian Government Allocates N231.73 Billion for Immunization and Malaria Vaccination in 2025 Budget

 

The Nigerian government has allocated N231.73 billion for immunization, malaria vaccination, and a vaccine tracking system in the 2025 budget. This move aims to increase vaccine coverage, provide essential support to health services, and combat malaria, a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the country.

Breakdown of the Allocation:

  •  Immunization Programs: N188.47 billion will be dedicated to GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) to support immunization programs nationwide.
  •  Malaria Vaccination: N41.02 billion will be allocated for the malaria vaccination of infants.
  •  Vaccine Tracking System: N2.24 billion will be used to improve vaccine delivery efficiency and reduce stockouts and wastage.

This allocation is part of the government’s efforts to improve the country’s health infrastructure and healthcare services, including those addressing public health issues like maternal and child health, diseases, and overall healthcare delivery.
