NIGERIAN LECTURER ATTEMPTS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD FOR LONGEST LECTURE

Dr. Nsikak Akpan, Provost of Foreign Links College in Moro, Osun State, has begun a 150-hour marathon lecture to break the Guinness World Record.

The current record holder, Indian Professor Arvin Mishra, delivered a 139-hour, 52-minute, and 42-second lecture in 2014.

Akpan’s lecture, “The Relationship Between Man’s Environment and Health,” started on Monday, September 23, and aims to raise awareness about environmental abuse’s impact on human health.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Akpan had completed 54 hours of lecturing, with students from the college in attendance.

He plans to complete the record-breaking attempt by 5 pm on Sunday, September 29.

If successful, Akpan will become the first Nigerian lecturer to achieve this feat.
