The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has launched a campaign to combat the spread of Lassa fever in Kogi State. The campaign, which includes a roadshow and town hall meetings, aims to educate residents on how to prevent the disease.
According to the acting State Director of NOA, Mr. Patrick Edogbanya, the campaign is necessary to prevent the spread of Lassa fever in Kogi State.
He emphasized that the disease is preventable with good hygiene practices, such as regular hand washing with soap and water, storing food in rodent-proof containers, and avoiding contact with infected persons or contaminated materials.
The Director-General of NOA, Mall. Lanre Isa-Onilu, also urged the public to adopt attitudinal changes to curb the escalation of the disease.
He commended President Tinubu, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, and other stakeholders for their support in controlling Lassa fever and other communicable diseases.
