Kachalla Sharme, a notorious bandit commander, was killed in a fierce gun duel between rival gangs in Kaduna State.
According to Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan, Sharme’s death occurred during a fratricidal clash at Hambakko in the Rijana and Kaso Forests.
Two other bandits were killed, and five sustained life-threatening injuries in the battle. Security forces had been tracking Sharme, responsible for numerous attacks, killings, and kidnappings in Kaduna and neighboring states.
Sharme’s gang was behind the July 5, 2021, abduction of 121 students from Bethel Baptist High School in Kujama.
