The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has promised to increase the monthly stipends of corps members from N33,000 to align with the new minimum wage once implemented by the Federal Government.
NYSC Director General, Yusha’u Ahmed, made this announcement during his visit to Kebbi and Sokoto orientation camps, addressing 2024 Batch ‘B’ stream two corps members.
He emphasized the invaluable contributions of corps members to Nigeria’s socio-economic development and encouraged them to develop themselves and plan for a brighter future.
Ahmed highlighted the NYSC’s skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development program, urging corps members to take advantage of it. He also assured them of their safety throughout their service year and encouraged them to stay vigilant.

The NYSC coordinators in Kebbi and Sokoto, Aghata Banki-Okolo and Yakubu Usman, respectively, praised corps members for their discipline and swift adaptation to camp life.
The Federal Government had signed the new minimum wage bill into law on July 29, raising Nigeria’s minimum wage from N30,000 to N70,000.
