NYSC EXTENDS SERVICE YEAR FOR THREE CORPS MEMBERS IN GOMBE

 

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the service year of three corps members in Gombe State for violating the scheme’s rules.

 

Details of the Extension

The state Coordinator, Chinwe Nwachuku, announced the extension during the Batch C Stream I passing-out ceremony. Four other corps members will have to repeat their service year due to absenteeism.

 

Passing-Out Ceremony

A total of 1,210 corps members completed their service, comprising 662 males and 548 females.

 

NYSC Coordinator’s Message

Nwachuku praised the outgoing corps members for their perseverance and hard work. “I am filled with great joy and very proud of all you have accomplished during the service year… Your sacrifices and selfless services to the socio-economic development of the nation will be rewarded.”

 

Emphasis on Discipline and Skill Acquisition

Nwachuku emphasized NYSC’s commitment to instilling discipline and encouraged corps members to leverage skills acquired during their service year to become self-reliant.
